Velvet's backstory includes elements of parental neglect, child death, grief and depression, survivor's guilt and suicidal ideation. She has also previously been, at minimum, complicit in various war crimes and other atrocities, including psychological torture—rarely perpetrating them herself but often abetting these acts. Past a certain point in her backstory, there's also a pervasive sense of nihilism and a deep cynicism about human nature, society and the world itself, whether felt by herself or espoused by the people around her. Velvet herself is struggling to overcome this, and these topics are unlikely to come up without a precipitating event or prior CR development. I still feel it's fair to warn for them given RL circumstances and how uncomfortably close to home some of them they may hit.
Creation as a setting is also rife with war, imperialism and supernatural horror, as well as many institutional and societal injustices. I don't expect this to come up much in regular play, if at all, but references or allusions to these things might be made depending on how the thread goes.
